Celebrating Outstanding Safety Leadership Across Our Sites

Copy of Our Team Leading the Way A2 Landscape

At Hanlon, health and safety is at the core of everything we do. We are committed to creating a strong safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for looking out for themselves, their team, and others on site.

We are proud to recognise three of our team members who have recently received site awards for their commitment to health and safety. Their actions reflect the standards we expect at Hanlon and demonstrate true leadership on site.

Sumeet Chand - Leading Safety Award, Hawkins | Airport Site

Sumeet Chand has been recognised by Hawkins at the Airport site with a Leading Safety Award for Excellence in Health & Safety. This award reflects consistent commitment to safe work practices, proactive hazard management, and the positive influence he brings to the site team each day.

Sumeet's approach to safety helps set the standard for others on site, and we are proud to see his efforts recognised by the principal contractor.

Joel Sabal - Leading Safety Award, Hawkins | Kenepuru Science Centre

Joel Sabal has also received a Leading Safety Award for Excellence in Health & Safety from Hawkins at the Kenepuru Science Centre project. Joel's dedication to maintaining safe systems of work and his strong awareness of site conditions have been acknowledged by the principal contractor.

His commitment to working safely and supporting others to do the same is a great example of the culture we strive to build across all Hanlon sites.

Levi Winter - Subcontractor of the Month, Naylor Love | AAIF Hamilton

Levi Winter was recently named Subcontractor of the Month by Naylor Love at the AAIF Hamilton project for demonstrating exceptional safety awareness and initiative.

Following heavy rainfall during the recent North Island weather event, Levi attended site on Saturday and identified that ground beneath a remote section of perimeter scaffolding had been washed away, creating a serious structural risk. Although Hanlon was not using - and had no intention of using -this scaffold, Levi immediately notified Naylor Love.

Further checks confirmed that the scaffold had become structurally compromised and unsafe. Levi's quick thinking and willingness to act prevented what could have been a serious incident for other trades working on site.

This is true safety leadership - looking beyond our own work areas and prioritising the safety of not just our team, but everyone on site.

Recognising Safety Leadership

Hanlon would like to congratulate Sumeet, Joel, and Levi on their well-deserved recognition. Thank you for representing Hanlon so well on site and demonstrating the strong safety leadership that underpins our culture.

Your actions enhance Hanlon's reputation and reflect the high standards of health and safety we are proud to uphold across all our projects.
